The Wide-Leafed Dyckia, also known as Dyckia platyphylla, is a striking succulent plant with spiny leaves and vibrant orange-yellow bell-like flowers that bloom on a tall stem reaching up to 90cm in height. This plant is native to Brazil and thrives in tropical climates, but it can also be grown successfully in Australian gardens by mixing sand with a good quality potting mix and allowing the plant to dry out between deep watering.

As a member of the bromeliad family, the Wide-Leafed Dyckia has a unique structure that consists of solitary stemless rosettes of long, deep green leaves that turn a delightful shade of purple or bronze in the shade. The plant can reach a mature height of 20cm and a width of up to 30cm.

With its intricate beauty and striking features, the Wide-Leafed Dyckia is a stunning addition to any succulent collection or garden. Its low-maintenance nature makes it an ideal choice for those who want to enjoy a beautiful plant without the hassle of frequent maintenance.
