The Euphorbia lactea variegata, commonly known as the White Ghost or Grey Ghost, is a stunning and unique succulent plant that can add a touch of whimsy and intrigue to any indoor or outdoor space. Native to tropical climates of Asia, primarily India, this plant features a thick fleshy stem that grows small leaves about 3mm wide and small sharp spines, ranging between 2-6mm long. The White Ghost can grow up to 120cm tall, but despite its size, it hardly seems like a real living plant but instead something from a Dr. Seuss book. Nonetheless, it is very real, and actually very hardy and drought-tolerant.

Please note that Euphorbias are for ornamental purposes only, and their milky sap can be toxic and cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. It is not meant to be ingested, and it is recommended to take care when handling the plant.

The White Ghost is a truly striking and attractive Euphorbia due to its mostly creamy-white or grey color with small hints of mottled green. This intricate and boney succulent will grow tall and branch out in an ornamental candelabra fashion, earning one of its common names – the Candelabra Cactus. Its ominous milky white coloration and barbed edging have also earned it the resemblance to “dragon bones”. Overall, the White Ghost is a unique and fascinating plant that can add an element of intrigue and curiosity to any collection.
