Description: A curious looking leafless, sparce shrub with rough, scaly barked stems and many blue-grey branches that form thickets. The plant can be adorned with a flat top crown of branches. This bushy evergreen’s stems have multiple sharp spines.  The foliage will remain greener if grown in shade, whereas in full sun will take on its distinctive silvery tones. Over time this plant can take on an attractive, gnarled, ancient look.

Flowers: Small, dark reddish violet blossoms.

Height/Width: Up to 2m if planted in the ground. Size can be limited by keeping in a smaller pot. Succulents do not mind being root bound.

Growing Season: Summer

Origin: Sub Tropical regions of Madagascar

Positioning: Full sun to part shade.

Care Instructions: A drought resistant shrub that will thrive with a well draining soil or positioning. Infrequent to occasional soaking only when soil has completely dried out. Keep drier in the winter.

NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
