This pretty South African native is a large shrub-forming plant which features fine-textured foliage and masses of delicate yellow or red flowers which are very attractive to bees. Usually used as a landscape plant thanks to its large bushy clumps, medium height and long-flowering nature, where it is useful for mass background plantings. However it is also favoured as a container specimen, where it gives the appearance of a wild living sculpture thanks to its irregularly branched, woody stems. Soft, gently serrated leaves form loose rosettes of pale grey-blue-green.

Waterwise and easy to care for, it grows well in light or dappled shade or part sun. Provide a well-drained site and water occasionally. Commonly known as Climbing Aloes, Rambling Aloes, Scrambling Aloes or Fence Aloe.
