A rare and stunning sub-shrub that is prized for its grey leaves and proliferation of puffy, scarlet red flowers. The silvery succulent leaves have purplish undersides and are spirally arranged out of a tuberous creeping rootstock. Growing to around 60cm tall, it can spread over time to form an attractive, no-maintenance groundcover.
Easy to grow, this plant requires minimal watering and loves a sunny, dry spot. Suitable for rockeries, waterwise gardens, or as a houseplant—anywhere its scarlet flowers will add a striking splash of colour and contrast!
Native to Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Common names: “Scarlet Kleinia” and “Coral Senecio”.
