This is a hybrid between two gorgeous South African species, Gasteria batesiana and Aloe aristate, and is otherwise known as х Gasterhaworthia ‘Royal Highness’, х Alworthia ‘Royal Highness’ or х Gastrolea ‘Royal Highness’.

An elegant, small succulent, it features round rosettes of soft leaves covered in white bumps which look like warts. Leaves are short, triangular, pointed and dark green but can be reddish under light.

It is shallow-rooted and quite slow-growing, allowing it to thrive when grown in little clusters in shallow, wide dishes. These attractive plants tolerate shade well making them popular houseplants.
