A rare hybrid Kalanchoe believed to be a cross between K. beharensis and K. tomentosa, though it may also be x pilosa. An upright grower reaching about 30cm high, it makes a lovely houseplant, enjoyed for its velvety-textured, silver to limegreen scalloped foliage with brown tips. The stout stems carry triangular shaped leaves and it can also bloom with many tiny white flowers.
This perennial also works wonderfully in rock or succulent gardens, having low water requirements. Enjoys bright indoor light and filtered or partial sun, and requires well-draining pots with gritty soil. Water deeply but only when soil becomes completely dry. Commonly named Rose Leaf, it is native to Madagascar.
