Usually grown as a houseplant, this slow-grower has multi-coloured foliage which forms dense mats of soft creams, greens and reds. Its many thick stems are reddish-brown while its glossy leaves are green and cream. Flowers are small and lavender-pink.

Due to its compact size and slow growth rate it is perfect for small spaces, as a hanging accent from planters and pots, or as an indoor bonsai subject. Durable and drought-tolerant, it enjoys full sun to part shade outside, or indoors, a spot with indirect sunlight. Ensure containers have wide drainage holes and avoid over-watering.

Native to eastern South Africa and also named: Reverse Variegation Rainbow Bush, Variegated Elephant Bush, Variegated Elephant Shrub, Variegated Elephant Food, thanks to being a food source for elephants.
