Sedum nussbaumerianum, commonly known as ‘Orange Delight’, is a striking succulent plant known for its vibrant orange to copper-colored leaves when grown in bright sunlight. This plant is part of the Crassulaceae family and is native to Mexico, where it thrives in rocky outcroppings and slopes, adapting well to dry, arid environments.

‘Orange Delight’ forms low-growing clusters that can spread outwards, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, rock gardens, or as a colorful addition to succulent arrangements. The leaves are thick, fleshy, and pointed, forming rosettes that intensify in color with increased sun exposure. During late winter to spring, it produces white to pale yellow, star-shaped flowers on tall stems, adding to its ornamental value.

This plant is particularly valued for its drought tolerance and low maintenance requirements. It prefers well-draining soil and should be watered sparingly, only when the soil has completely dried out, to avoid root rot. Sedum nussbaumerianum ‘Orange Delight’ is sensitive to frost and should be protected from freezing temperatures, making it suitable for growing in containers in colder climates where it can be brought indoors during winter. Its vibrant coloration and ease of care make it a popular choice among gardeners and succulent enthusiasts.
