Echeveria are very popular ornamental garden plants, prized for their stunning and variegated leaf colours. This particular species features fleshy, brightly-coloured leaves of soft pastel green with hot pink/red edges that become more brilliant in cooler weather. Leaves are jelly-bean shaped and form little rosettes making an upright shrub up to 30cm tall, which blooms with tubular, orange flowers rising on short stalks.

Native to the semi-desert areas of Central American, Mexico, and northwestern South America, they are drought resistant but do best with regular watering. Tolerant of shade but preferring full sun, Macdougallii are easy to grow and provide stunning pink tones through your garden or flower pots.
