The hallmark of this plant is its interesting foliage. A clumping, mounding succulent, it is stemless, with basal leaves forming rosettes. Leaves are sliver grey to lime green, plump, fleshy, flat and tongue-like, and are covered in warty-looking bumps. It features a pink bloom in springtime. A relatively slow grower, it will reach a maximum height of around 10cm and with rosettes around 15cm in diameter.

Like other Gasteria, it is hard to kill and tolerates a range of growing conditions though it prefers filtered or partial sun, or low indoor light. With the right amount of sunlight, the leaves will blush red. Native to South Africa.
