Native to Mexico, Frosty is a low-growing ornamental succulent plant. A sub-shrub reaching only about 15cm tall, it is highly popular in succulent collections and as a houseplant. Its leaves are covered in fine, shining, silvery hairs which become brown at leaf tips, and it will bloom with cute red flowers.
Although it is not hard to grow, attention needs to be given to careful watering and providing lots of light—the plant will become truly spectacular with thorough, regular irrigation. However, don’t allow it to sit in water, or water to drop inside rosettes as this will cause rot. You can also remove dead leaves from the bottom of the plant as they harbour pests. Hybrids like this one are less tolerant of shade or cold, so provide lots of light and warmth. Also called “Chenille Plant”.
