Euphorbia francoisii is a distinctive succulent from the diverse Euphorbiaceae family. This species stands out for its small, multi-branched, columnar growth pattern, with cylindrical stems covered in arrays of short, pointed tubercles. The greenish to grey-green stems often take on a coral-like appearance, adding to its unique aesthetics.

Native to Madagascar, this succulent thrives in the rocky landscapes of the Tsingy de Bemaraha region. Like many succulents, it’s adapted to arid conditions and has developed specialized tissues to store water, ensuring its survival during drought periods.

There aren’t any notable common uses for Euphorbia francoisii; however, it’s primarily appreciated for its ornamental value in succulent collections. Precautions should be taken when handling this plant, as with many Euphorbias, since its milky sap is irritant and can be toxic if ingested or if it comes into contact with the eyes. Always handle with care and keep away from children and pets.
