This cultivar is of garden origin and is commonly known as Devil’s Backbone, Japanese Poinsettia or Redbird Cactus. A popular perennial succulent spurge, it grows up to 2.4m tall and 60cm wide. Featuring oval, glossy, mid-green, white edged leaves and zigzag stems that can give the appearance of a bent backbone. In bloom, will produce an abundance of little star-shaped red flowers.

This plant is very easy care once established, and can even be neglected. As it loves warmth, provide it with lots of sun and well-draining soil. Attracts hummingbirds.

NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
