Part of the enormous family of spurges from Madagascar, this particular plant is a greenhouse hybrid of two Euphorbias, E. lophogona and E. milli (hence the name lo-mi). Bred in Thailand, it has been given the name Buttercup Thai Giant Crown of Thorns, or simply Crown of Thorns, Buttercup. These cultivars have been selected for their vibrant, vivid colour and their sizeable flower bracts.

An evergreen plant, Crown of Thorns boasts clusters of huge, butter yellow flower bracts that provide a showy display for your garden. Its leaves are big, beautiful and elliptical in shape, and up to around 13cm long. The plant itself grows to around 90cm high. Drought tolerant like other Euphorbias, it makes a stunning easy care potplant.

NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
