This hybrid has been in cultivation since at least the 1900s, but is often confused with South African native Aloe striata. Most likely a cross between a. striata and A. maculata, it features light coral to apricot orange flowers rising above rosettes of light-spotted blue-green leaves with soft toothed margins (compared to A.striata which is toothless).

A perennial evergreen succulent, it reaches about 30cm high. Place in sun to partial shade, it is well suited to xeriscaping and waterwise gardens, where it provides winter interest. Will attract bees, butterflies and birds.
