This is a pretty, delicate sprawling succulent ground cover. A low-growing perennial or annual, it features thin reddish brown stems, masses of tiny, thick, flat hairy leaves of pale green, and small white 5 pointed star-shaped flowers. These will have your garden looking lively as they attract bees, butterflies and other insects.

Looks awesome in rock gardens or as filler or edging if soil is well draining and also work beautifully in containers and water features.

Growing up to 25cm tall, spreading 50cm across, it’s native to parts of Africa including the provinces of the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga, north to Tanzania, and Madagascar. Easy to grow but as with all succulents, overwatering can be fatal. Likes everything from full sun to dappled shade
