This evergreen succulent has a traditional cactus appearance and can grow to almost 3 metres tall. Originating in Namibia, it’s actually part of the Poinsettia family, though you’d never tell from looks alone– Its flowers are typically white and pale yellow. The stems are dark green and triangular in section and grow practically upright, each featuring a trio of prickly thorns which are dangerously sharp.

As one of the African Milk Tree plants, this plant has a poisonous milky-white sap and so must be further handled with care. An easy care, slow grower, this plant loves well-drained soil, full sun or light shade, shelter from the wind and minimal watering. Best grown indoors or on a warm verandah — with extra space around them for safety’s sake!

NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
